MCE - Site Engineering Case Study
Infrastructure is a key element to the modern world - airports, rail, ports, highways, and more all mean logistics, trade, and business can be safely and efficiently carried out.
In 2019, MCE were awarded a dual-contract to build, what was at the time, Greenland’s largest infrastructure project - two new international airports within Nuuk, the capital, and Ilulissat, a tourist hotspot.
LAT were awarded a season-long contract to assist on these projects directly contribute to the successful construction of critical infrastructure.
As the sole geospatial contractor on site, our responsibilities included, drone surveys to generate project monitoring products and stockpile calculations, setting out for structures and utilities such as PAPI light foundations, machine control including 3D GPS models and troubleshooting, spatial analysis to assist with phase review and decision making, and more.
Engagement with the site and wider management team directly influenced a key and successful phase of the project with LAT being awarded a renewal of the contract for the following season.
